ARTIST/E :    Linda Bordage

Paintings of the Maritimes and local landscapes with vibrant colors.   Oils, Acrylics and Chalk Pastels

Linda works in oils, acrylics and chalk pastels. She has studied art through courses taken at: St. Lawrence College, Algonquin College, Ottawa School of Art, Nepean Visual Art Centre, Ottawa Visual Art Centre and Loyalist College. She has studied under varied artists in Ontario and the Maritimes. She has also taken pottery, sculpting, stain glass and etching on glass courses which has influenced her art in the shapes and the light in her work.

Passionate about art all her life, she has been seriously painting for the past 15 years. Inspired by varied artists, she uses predominately oils and pastels. She also continues to enjoy exploring different techniques and mediums. Born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, where the ocean, sand and misty salty air, has enticed her to paint water landscapes. Her work varies in style but the subject is often captured in the drama of the sky, water and land. Retired after a 30 year career in the health care field, she became sensitive to the miracles in nature, from the smallest creatures to studies of rocks on the beach.

Exhibits and galleries that she has participated in are: the Old Chelsea Art Gallery and Gallery Du Parc (both located in Old Chelsea, Québec). She has also shown at the Visual Art Centre in Orléans, North Gloucester Library, Alterna Savings, Allegro Music Studio, the Ottawa Tulip Festival, the Gloucester Art Gallery, the Ottawa Little Theatre, Glebe Community Centre and at the Vanier-Richelieu Community Centre. She has been juried into the Arts Ottawa East Shows in 2006 & 2007.
